ETC launches lifestyle show

Make Up on ETCetera hosts: Patti Grandidge & Kim Jones
Called Etcetera, the 15-minute, short-format program debuted without commercial breaks on ETC last Sunday at 8:45 p.m., shortly before the encore telecast of the hit US show Glee at 9 p.m.

Anne Coronel-Biagan, ETC network development head, said the show hopes to further strengthen the channel’s appeal to its target audience of female high school and college students, as well as young professionals. "Never be behind the trend or out of the loop. With Etcetera, you are kept up to date on what’s in and what’s out in style, beauty, TV, and the Web," Ms. Coronel-Biagan told reporters last week.

Etcetera is ETC’s latest attempt to produce local shows to complement its lineup of sitcoms and dramas from the US. Prior to Etcetera, ETC presented the magazine show Chill Spot, which aired in 2008. ETC also produced the local version of the hit reality series Project Runway in 2008 and ’09.

Hosting Etcetera is Patti Grandidge, while Kim Jones is the show’s on-the-scene reporter. The two were chosen from among the hundreds who auditioned for the part, Ms. Coronel-Biagan said.

Positive and easy-going, the half-Filipina Ms. Grandidge has a degree in International Business from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

As host, Ms. Grandidge looks forward to getting connected with viewers as she is very interactive on Facebook and Twitter.

Aside from her TV gig, Ms. Grandidge splits her time between her business, Sweet Patti Cakes, a home-based business that sells cupcakes, and her blog, pattispalette.blogspot.com, which she updates regularly with her foodie finds.

Ms. Jones’s love of the outdoors and spontaneity makes her the perfect on-the-scene reporter. Over the last nine months living in the Philippines, she has spent the majority of that time traveling and exploring the country.

Because of her Australian upbringing she describes her style as very relaxed and laid-back.

A new episode of Etcetera debuts every Sunday at 8:45 p.m., with replays on Mondays at 8:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m; Tuesdays at 7:45 p.m.; Wednesdays at 7:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.; Thursdays at 11:30 p.m.; Saturdays at 2:45 p.m.; and Sundays at 11 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. -- J. O. Valisno
